Caro Duarte - Bio (english)

Producer, screenwriter and film director originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. She has a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Sonora. Since 2005, she has directed the film production team La Nova Films, where, in addition to providing scriptwriting, production, and post-production services, she offers courses on Screenwriting, Construction of Fictional Characters, Direction, and Film Analysis. Her specialization has been carried out through workshops, seminars and diploma courses in Executive Production, Filmmaking, Development of Documentary Projects, Art Direction and Dramaturgy, among others. She has been part of the organizing committee of the Viña de Oro Film Festival (Fresno, CA), the Desierto International Film Festival (Hermosillo) and currently the Álamos Mágico International Film Festival (Álamos). Among her most relevant artistic work is the production, writing and direction of the short films LA MEJOR ESTACIÓN (2005), ARCANO (2006), EL ANNIVERSARIO (2006), JESUIT (2006), NOTHING WHAT TO DO (2020), the documentary LOS MYSTERIES OF THE TEMPLE OF PITIQUITO (2009) and the feature films SER (2010) and EL CALLEJÓN (2017). The latter has received the Best Film and Best Director awards (Ahmednagar Film Festival, India, 2020), Best Feature Film (LetNetworks AmLatino; Washington, EU, 2019), Best Latino International Feature Film (Latino Film Market; New York, EU, 2018) , Best Director (Latino Awards; Marbella, Spain, 2018), Best Fiction Feature Film (Bohemian Film Festival; Oregon, EU, 2018), among other awards and nominations. At the beginning of 2021, she published her first fiction novel entitled EL ABRAZO where she addresses the issue of femicides in Mexico and in that same year her MANUAL was also published: 10 STEPS TO WRITE A SCRIPT FOR CINEMA. She is currently preparing her next fictional feature film.

Cesar Hernández

Cesar Hernández, was born in the Dominican Republic city of Santiago. He considers himself a hyperactive person and very humanitarian with others. He trained professionally in the Social Communication Career at the Technological University of Santiago UTESA. As a social communicator he focuses on production, he has produce in several spaces for television. In that area, He discovered his passion for cinema and production, by participating in several short film projects as an actor and a few years later he started working as a film producer. The projects were inspired by the problems that the society faces daily. While working as a producer, he realized that he needed to give more of myself to society and transmit his knowledge to the whole new generation that is eager to learn, and that is how he became part of the Santiago Film Institute where he coordinates training workshops in the different areas of cinema such as editing, acting, photography and lighting. His interest is in developing further in this area as a coordinator of training workshops resulted in the production of several successful projects, producing around 15 short films which were awarded at different film festivals around the world.

Then he worked on feature film projects like the rope directed by Josk Crook and acted and written by Manny Perez and several feature films in his country of origin, RD.
